The Best Workout Gear
So its January and my feeds are full of ‘lets get fit’ ‘new year new me’ whatever journey you are on, whether you are new to fitness or it’s your thing already, having the right workout gear is key, it can honestly make or break your workout.
There is nothing worse that going out for a run and your running legging rolling down or your new running top is rubbing in all the wrong places. Over the years I have spend far too much money on fitness gear, but I finally feel like I know what works for me and what I would go back and buy over and over again. It is true however, you get what you pay for. If you invest in good workout gear, it does last forever. Trust me, this is coming from someone who works out everyday and because I work at home at lot I basically live in my sports wear. My washing is mostly full of my sweat drenched sports bras and leggings so they are being throughly put to the test that’s for sure.

Running Vest
The running vest has become very popular especially on Tik Tok, young fit running influencers showing off their long or slow runs all wearing the Solomon running vest. I must say I wasn’t sure about them, but I need something to carry all my bits on a long run, phone, AirPods, lip balm, gels, sweets, tissue’s (am I the only girly who’s nose runs while running no pun intended). I invested in one especially made for women rather than going Unisex so it would fit nicely over my boobies. I love it, it is so comfortable to wear, has loads of pockets easily adjustable so you get a good fit, and it came with two soft flasks, I fill one with water and the other with a carbohydrate drink. It’s an investment but in my humble opinion worth it.
Training App
There are so many apps available I think it honestly comes down to personal preference and what tech you have already invested in. I have an Apple Watch and before I got a bit serious with running I always just used the activity app on my watch, you can set by time, distance or pace so it’s pretty good. I now use the pacing feature on all my runs it is particularly brilliant if you are doing a tempo or pyramid run. With a marathon fast approaching I am currently using the Runna app. What I love about this app is you set your target, distance or date of your race and it basically builds the training plan for you, it takes the hard work out of planning your training plan, you decide what days and how many days a week you can run and it builds your schedule right up to race day. Job done, just need to run it now…
