Jewellery
Jewellery can elevate any outfit, from a plain white t-shirt, to a simple black dress. It adds personality to your look, makes for a talking point. Jewellery is so personal, are you a gold or silver girly? Do you stack your rings? Do you have multiple ear piercings, certainly a trend I have embraced. What about bracelets, annoying or stylish? I must admit, I really like wearing bracelets, but I tend to forget to take them off when I go for a run. They annoy me so much, moving up and down my arms. Note to self, take them off beforehand!
I like to wear jewellery that expresses my style, I am definitely not into the follow fashion approach. Prior to the pandemic, I really wanted to buy a gold Cartier love bracelet, but these days everyone seems to have one. They have been made mainstream by the reality tv stars all wearing them, and there are lots of fakes available. The lure of owning one has worn off for me. I much prefer to invest in bits that are a bit more individual.
Let’s start with my favourite earrings. I have always loved a hoop, all sizes, designs, you name it, I’m here for them. My love for hoops grew even more when the queen herself, Adele, wore these amazing gold hoops by Shaun Leane. I was lucky enough to receive these from my bestie for my birthday, and I love them so much. They are a good weight and the back is super secure, which helps my fear of losing it. I also love these large squiggle hoop from Missoma, a unique twist on a standard hoop. Then if you like a chunky hoop, these ones from Monica Vinader are perfect. I love these because they don’t get lost when I have my hair down and wavy. They are much more of a standout hoop, and add instant glam to any look.
For a bit of extra glam I love these Crystal Large Hoops from Astrid & Miyu, along with these cosmic dome hoops, both look great on and give a more going out look. Astrid & Miyu do great earrings and they are more affordable, I have several pairs and they look amazing on and last. (Just don’t wear them in the shower/swimming as they are gold plated).
My final update on hoops is of course Maria Tash. If you have embraced the multi ear stacking, then Maria Tash are the best. Their jewellery is just beautiful. If you are looking for a curated look then they are the best in the business. I know they are mega expensive, but if you want to invest in your earrings, then this is the place to go. They are gold with diamonds, and just look incredible, forever. I have invested over the years in getting my ear stacks to look exactly how I want them. I do have 11 piercing, from my lobs to my helix, daith & conch, but I wanted to ensure they look stylish and elegant, hence why I aways go to Maria Tash. It’s an investment for sure.
For necklaces I default to my favourite brand Roxanne First, they do quirky beaded colourful necklaces, if that’s your thing, but I love their personalised diamond letter necklaces. I bought one a few years ago which I have never taken off, I love it. They do some gorgeous everyday diamond ones, from dots, lightening bolts, stars, floating diamonds to personalised calendars with special dates marked out with precious stones, totally unique.
When is comes to chunky necklaces, I love all the options Rachel Jackson has to offer, latest one I have my eye on is the Dawn O Porter Disco Ball locket, so fun. Cheaper version and always on trend are H&M and Zara. You can be guaranteed, if you need something to lift an outfit, you can pick something up there.
Now if you are not already dripping in gold and diamond jewellery, buying some waterproof jewellery especially for going on holiday is an absolute must. I discovered Hey Harper last year and bought loads of cool necklaces, bracelets & rings. They look stylish, especially when you want to wear them to the pool/beach, working out, whatever your vibe. There are now lots of brands that offer sweat/water proof options.
For bracelets I like to stack as many as possible! The ones I am currently wearing and loving are, this beautiful delicate diamond dot bracelet that I bought from Jayce Wong, along with this bangle from Monica Virander with the straight front, which makes it a bit different. Coming into the summer months, I will be putting on some of my beaded bracelets, I was gifted a gorgeous green friendship bracelet from my bestie which looks lovely sitting next to my Apple watch. Finally the little delicate waxed cotton braclets always look lovely especially coming into the summer months.
Next if you are into the trends, reading the latest updates from fashion week the key trends are, Pearls, Silver, yes it’s back, jewels for the hands, double rings and body chains over tops & clip on embellishments, we love a good broach.
Here are some options I own or love. I adore these Christian Dior tribales my sister has these, and they look incredible on. What makes them unique is the large pearl sits behind the ear lobe. Absolutely fabulous.
Then we have a nice chunky gold & pearl earrings from Astrid & Miyu which I bought last year, real statement earring and look great on. Then back to Shaun Leane, these hook earrings come in loads of different sizes and look very cool on. Have a look at his website for Inspo.
Here is a nice silver cuff along with a nice double ring option. There is so much body jewellery around get googling girls, you are going to need them for festival season & for swifty.
This vintage bee is from John Lewis went straight into my basket, and will look lovely on a black blazer for work. Then finally a big nod to the Bottega Veneta earrings, here are some dupes from amazon which are basically the same thing. Go get them girls.
That’s it from me. I hope you enjoyed this week’s update on all things jewellery. Love S x
